    About Rony Plesl



    A significant milestone in his career was the 2022 Venice Biennale, where Plesl unveiled "Trees Grow from the Sky," a site-specific installation in the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione. This exhibition marked the global debut of Vitrum Vivum, an innovative full-relief glass casting technology developed over twelve years by Czech glass master Jiří Šín. This technique allows for the creation of large-scale glass sculptures without the limitations previously imposed by traditional methods.

    Plesl's work is deeply influenced by his admiration for the geometry and intimacy of the Italian Renaissance, as well as the architectural opulence of the Baroque period. His time spent in Venice, particularly on the island of Murano, studying under Italian master glassmakers, has significantly shaped his artistic perspective.

    Through his innovative approach and dedication to pushing the boundaries of glass art, Rony Plesl continues to make a significant impact on the contemporary art scene, merging historical influences with cutting-edge techniques to create works that are both timeless and avant-garde.
